About the role

The Certified Nurse Assistant at BJC Home Care is responsible for providing direct patient/resident care and assistance in accordance with all applicable policies, procedures, regulations and nursing standards of care.

Responsibilities

• Obtains vital signs and other measurements as directed and documents findings promptly.
• Maintains patient hygiene, comfort, nutrition, and hydration needs and documents as required.
• Recognizes and reports abnormal findings or changes in patient status to the nurse throughout the entire shift.
• Implements care under the supervision of the nurse or primary case manager.
• In Home Health, this can be done with a Registered Nurse (RN), Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), or Speech Pathologist.

Requirements

• No experience required.
• No supervisor experience required.
• Licenses & Certifications:
  • Automobile Insurance
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Certified Nurse Assistant
  • Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications

• Less than 2 years of experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.

Skills

• Ability to obtain vital signs and document findings.
• Knowledge of patient hygiene, comfort, nutrition, and hydration needs.
• Ability to recognize and report abnormal findings.
• Experience implementing care under supervision.
