About the role
The Certified Nurse Assistant in-home care position at BJC Home Care offers a comprehensive range of services including skilled nursing, adult and pediatric hospice, and supportive care. This role serves patients and their families in both Missouri and Illinois, with a focus on providing comfort and dignity in the final stages of life.
Responsibilities
- Obtains vital signs and other measurements as directed and documents findings promptly.
- Maintains patient hygiene, comfort, nutrition, and hydration needs and documents as required.
- Recognizes and reports abnormal findings or changes in patient status to the nurse throughout the entire shift.
- Implements care under the supervision of the nurse or primary case manager.
- In Home Health, this can be done with a Registered Nurse (RN), Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), or Speech Pathologist.
Requirements
- No prior experience is required.
- Must be able to drive and have valid driver’s license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Certified Nurse Assistant license are preferred but not required.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Skills
Strong communication skills, ability to handle sensitive situations, and a compassionate demeanor are essential.

Pay and Schedule
Hourly rate is based on current IRS mileage reimbursement rates, typically Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM.
