Hospice Clinical Manager (RN)
About the Role
As a Hospice Clinical Manager with Wellspring Lutheran Services, you will play a vital leadership role in creating a compassionate, dignified, and supportive experience for patients and families. You will support a team of clinicians, oversee the quality of care, and ensure every person receives comfort, respect, and individualized attention. Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for the day-to-day operations of hospice clinical services, ensuring high-quality, individualized care for patients.
- Collaborate with nurses, social workers, physicians, nutritionists, and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care that reflects each patient’s unique needs, goals, and preferences.
- Serve as a mentor, coach, and resource for clinical staff, supporting their professional growth and ensuring they have the tools to provide compassionate care in the field.
- Strengthen clinical excellence and employee engagement through training visits, case conferences, clinical education, and collaborative problem-solving.
- Monitor patient outcomes, family satisfaction, incident reporting, regulatory compliance, and clinical documentation to ensure care meets federal, state, and professional standards.
- Remain connected to patient care by conducting admissions, supporting clinical visits as needed, and assisting the team in responding to routine and emergent situations.
- Uphold the mission, values, and service standards of the organization while treating every patient, family member, and colleague with dignity and respect.
Requirements
- Current, valid Michigan licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- 1 year of hospice experience (preferred).
- A commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care and supporting interdisciplinary hospice services.
- Experience leading, mentoring, educating, and supporting clinical staff.
- Strong understanding of quality standards, regulatory compliance, clinical documentation, and performance improvement processes.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment, and commit to continuous improvement.
Schedule
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
- Participation in the nurse on-call rotation.
- Weekend rotation approximately every 4-6 weeks.
- 1 evening per week.
- Occasional travel for patient visits, staff support, and field-based clinical oversight.
Pay
$85,000 - $91,500 salary.
