What You'll Do

• Provide individualized spiritual and emotional support to patients and families
• Complete spiritual assessments and contribute to individualized plans of care
• Offer compassionate listening, counseling, prayer and other spiritual support as desired
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient and family needs
• Connect with community clergy and faith communities when additional support is requested
• Provide funeral or memorial support when requested by families
• Support Grace Hospice staff through presence, conversation, prayer, devotions or memorial reflections as appropriate
• Complete required documentation and maintain communication with the Chaplain team and supervisor

Requirements

• Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent theological degree from an accredited seminary or school of theology
• Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) required
• Current ecclesiastical endorsement
• Experience supporting individuals and families through serious illness, death, dying, grief or loss
• Ability to provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental listening presence
• Respect for different cultures, traditions, beliefs and values
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Ability to creatively connect with individuals experiencing Alzheimer's disease or other forms of cognitive decline

• Board certification preferred

Pay

$30.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience
