What You'll Do
- Provide individualized spiritual and emotional support to patients and families
- Complete spiritual assessments and contribute to individualized plans of care
- Offer compassionate listening, counseling, prayer and other spiritual support as desired
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient and family needs
- Connect with community clergy and faith communities when additional support is requested
- Provide funeral or memorial support when requested by families
- Support Grace Hospice staff through presence, conversation, prayer, devotions or memorial reflections as appropriate
- Complete required documentation and maintain communication with the Chaplain team and supervisor
Requirements
- Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent theological degree from an accredited seminary or school of theology
- Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) required
- Current ecclesiastical endorsement
- Experience supporting individuals and families through serious illness, death, dying, grief or loss
- Ability to provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental listening presence
- Respect for different cultures, traditions, beliefs and values
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to creatively connect with individuals experiencing Alzheimer's disease or other forms of cognitive decline
Qualifications
- Board certification preferred
Pay
$30.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience
