Position Highlights
Follows care plan developed by RN.
Reports client changes in condition to RN, as described on care plan.
Aids clients with personal care activities including bathing, mouth care, denture care, skin care, grooming, bathroom privileges, transferring, ambulation, and dressing and undressing activities.
Aids clients with household tasks including, planning and preparing meals, feeding, light housekeeping, changing linens, making bed, and laundering clothes and bedding.
Measures and records client’s oral, rectal and axillary temperatures, pulse respiration and blood pressure as ordered.
Performs range of motion and other simple procedures as an extension of therapy services as assigned.
Aids clients in self-administration of medication. This procedure must be assigned by an RN and documented in the clinical record.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Active C.N.A. certification in PA.
- Completion of CNA course.
- Completion of federally compliant training program as required by law/regulation and successful completion of a competency evaluation program.
- Documentation of Three (3) years’ employment as an aide in an institution, home care, or hospice setting.
- Current Driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work site.
- Current CPR training.
- Mets agency hiring criteria as defined in agency minimum standards (e.g. provision of professional references).
- Accepts responsibility for maintaining skills, learning and adhering to agencies policies and procedures on an on-going basis.
