About the role
The Hospice Aide II position at Hospice of Cincinnati is an advanced role that provides direct patient care under the direction of a nurse. This position includes assisting with basic activities of daily living, providing companionship and emotional support, and serving as a unit coordinator.
Responsibilities
- Communicates effectively with others and respects patients, families, and team members.
- Reports patient related information in a timely manner and prioritizes work.
- Documents observations and tasks performed.
- Works collaboratively with the health care team.
- Maintains a safe environment and follows safety policies.
- Performs clerical duties, including accurate data entry into the electronic medical record.
- Coordinates patient flow and provides hospice aide services across multiple settings or levels of care.
- Adapts personal care delivery to align with the environment and setting, patient acuity, and level of care requirements.
- Supports new hospice aides by reinforcing proper performance of personal care tasks, safety practices, and hospice philosophy.
- Offers real-time guidance and constructive feedback related to workflow, professional conduct, and documentation expectations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2 years high school education in general studies.
- 2 - 5 Years Of Previous Healthcare Experience.
- Age 17 with work permit.
- Reading and math ability appropriate to the position.
- Multi-line phone skills, familiar with patient call systems and pagers.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 Days Required.
Qualifications

Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Full Time (36 hours Weekly) Night Shift 7:30pm-7:00am.
