Hose/Nozzle Utility Operator

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Hose/Nozzle Utility Operator, 1st shift at our Conover, NC manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities

• Monitor before, during and after the process of combining chemicals to produce foam for internal and external customers.
• Maintain daily communication with all employees on the pour line, the supervisor, manager and technical manager during the pouring process.
• Assist in pre and post production of pouring equipment.
• Perform extensive cleaning of pouring equipment.
• Determine serviceability of screens and other high‑pressure equipment.
• Work in a chemical production environment with exposure to temperature changes and some unpleasant working conditions.
• Be willing to learn multiple positions of prime pouring.
• Clean troughs and other related equipment.
• Make trough hoses.
• Work with the flattop operator on the other side of the tunnel to adjust flattop pans.
• Participate in HazMat spill team activities.
• Keep platform and work area clean.
• Assist with inventory as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Previous chemical experience preferred.
• Prior machine operating experience preferred.
• Ability to use computerized equipment in day‑to‑day operations and have computer knowledge.
• Must be able to pass a
