About the role
This position participates in horticultural activities focusing on the Annual Flower Program and high-profile landscape detailing.
Responsibilities
- Participates in the Annual Flower Program to include flower unit counts, design layout assistance and plant installation in annual flower locations.
- Provides routine maintenance of color locations to include weed control, fertility and soil level maintenance.
- Participates in receiving of program flower stock and other plants associated with this operation, placement of received plant material in defined Annual Flower Program area of UF nursery and maintenance of plants associated with this program while in the nursery.
- Propagates plant material and maintains newly propagated plant material associated with this program as required.
- Affords assistance with maintenance of high-profile landscape areas as directed.
- Operates State Vehicles which may include pick-up trucks, heavy-duty utility vehicles, trailers and golf carts.
- Performs other related work as assigned.
Qualifications
- Completion of ninth grade.
- Possession of and ability to maintain a valid Florida Class E Driver’s License.

Schedule
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Pay
Expected Salary: $15.00 Hourly based on experience.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of ninth grade.
- Possession of and ability to maintain a valid Florida Class E Driver’s License.
