About the role
This position is located at our Casa Grande, AZ, USA facility. The selected individual will operate and maintain horizontal saws to process core materials according to customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Process core through horizontal saws to cut to required thickness per customer specifications.
- Operate and maintain horizontal saws, including general setups, spinner block assembly, and associated parts.
- Verify cell count and dimensions, adjusting saw speeds and setups to meet tolerance and surface quality requirements.
- Evaluate visual quality of material to ensure compliance with routing and QI304-560 specifications.
- Record and track thickness, tolerance, and density using the SPC online computer program.
- Monitor saw performance against job requirements and report material usage and movement.
- Assist in operations such as trimming, sawing, blowout, wash-dry, and rework.
- Perform "water spider" duties when rotated, including blade and material changeovers, delivering coupons to QA, and replenishing expendable materials.
- Perform "skinsticker" duties when rotated, including scheduling non-metallic core through appropriate saws and processing blocks and stubs through block trim, color-code, and skinstick.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED (or equivalent).
- Minimum of one year of experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Proficiency in using a tape measure and ruler.
- Basic working knowledge of computer data entry.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to calculate figures such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Must be able to follow written, oral, or diagrammed instructions and handle problems involving several concrete variables.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, temporary resident, refugee, or asylee.
Pay
Start rate: $27.84 per hour during the 90-day new hire orientation period, increasing to $30.02 per hour thereafter. Includes a $1.75 per hour shift premium.
Schedule
This position follows the "T3" 2x2x5x5 shift:
- Week 1: Monday, Thursday, and Friday, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
- Week 2: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Note: The workday is designated by the day the shift ends. Overtime is often required.
