Horizontal Machining Center Operator
About the role
The Horizontal Machining Center Operator is responsible for operating a horizontal boring mill, performing various machining operations, and maintaining quality standards. This role requires proficiency in using different types of tools and machines, as well as the ability to make adjustments to programs as needed.
Responsibilities
- Operate a horizontal boring mill to perform contouring, boring, facing, turning, counter boring, grooving, undercutting, reaming, milling, drilling, and tapping operations.
- Maintain detailed records and complete process documentation.
- Demonstrate ability to recognize and address issues during program operation and edit/write programs using G and M coded controls.
- Work with tolerances of .000" and microfinish 16 when necessary.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED equivalency is required. Formal technical education is preferred but not required.
- A minimum of three (3) years' technical experience in a similar role is desired.
- Must be able to maintain detailed records and complete process documentation.
- Must be able to recognize and address problems as programs run and demonstrate ability to write/edit programs using both G and M coded controls (experience with Siemens and Fanuc controls preferred).
- Must be able to work with tolerances of .000" and to a microfinish 16 when necessary.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Must be open and available to working all shifts.
Physical Demands
Regularly stands, uses hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reaches with hands and arms. Frequently stoops, kneels, crouches, crawls, and talks or hears. Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, toxic, and caustic chemicals and fumes or airborne particles.
Pay
The starting rate for this position in Ohio (US-OH) is $40.90 per hour. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at the time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment and are subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
