Job SummaryThe CNC Machinist II - 2nd Shift operates under minimal supervision, operating CNC (computer numerical controlled) machinery to manufacture metallic and non-metallic parts. Shift Hours: 2:30pm - 1:00am - Mon. - Thurs. OFFERING A $5000 SIGN ON BONUS FOR 2ND SHIFT MACHINISTS!!Key Responsibilities Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible mannerReads and interprets blueprintsProperly and safely loads and unloads raw materialsProficient in the use of measuring instrumentsUses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirementsAbility to power on and operate CNC lathes and mills with minimal assistance. Must be self-sufficientMust be familiar with MAZAK, HAAS, Fanuc, and Mori ControlsUnderstands and can function using M and G codesMust demonstrate a basic understanding of cutting toolsProperly chooses/uses inserts, fixtures, and toolingUnderstands and can perform basic tool wear offsetsPerforms daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machineryAssists in the organization and maintenance of the machine shop work environmentProvides constant feedback and input into process improvement within the departmentBasic understanding and ability to follow manufacturing processes and proceduresUtilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety proceduresComplies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructionsCommunicates thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, to co-workers and managementAttends scheduled meetings and actively participates by providing meaningful inputIs flexible with time and schedule to assure availability to customer or company as circumstances warrantCommunicates honestly, professionally, and respectfully with others and demonstrates effective listening skills Required Skills & Competencies In-depth knowledge of CNC milling machines and operationsStrong leadership and team management skillsExcellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detailAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specificationsProficiency in using measuring instruments and toolsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced environment Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in CNC machining is preferred1 year of experience in CNC machiningAbility to understand basic mechanical and manufacturing techniquesAbility to read, write and speak English fluently.
