About the role

You understand what gifted students can achieve — because you were one yourself. If you've witnessed that potential wasted by reduced expectations and standardized lesson plans, consider this alternative. At gt.school, you'll guide a cohort of 15–20 K–12 learners through curriculum at 5–10x the pace of conventional classrooms. Your role is to continuously elevate performance: facilitating one-hour life skills workshops covering public speaking, focus, and feedback, and conducting personalized motivation sessions that use Coachbot analytics to align each student's objectives with measurable progress in learning applications.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating one-hour life skills workshops on public speaking, focus, and feedback for a cohort of 15–20 K–12 students using gt.school's curriculum alongside your own academic background
  • Conducting personalized motivation sessions, leveraging Coachbot analytics to monitor each student's progress in learning apps relative to their individual goals
  • Administering Test2Pass mastery-based assessments to validate student skill acquisition
  • Adjusting delivery dynamically through storytelling, established credibility, and AI-personalized instruction to maintain challenge and engagement for gifted learners
  • Monitoring progress toward 100% goal-completion and 95% student satisfaction targets

Requirements

  • Willingness to work in-person in Austin (Georgetown), TX
  • Bachelor's degree from a top-tier university (Ivy League or equivalent)
  • Documented record of academic excellence (e.g., National Merit Finalist, academic Olympiad medalist, or early college graduation)
  • At least 3 years of experience coaching, mentoring, or teaching students
  • At least one elite academic signal: prestigious fellowship or scholarship (Rhodes, Fulbright, NSF GRFP, Gates), PhD, Mensa or Triple Nine Society membership, or university-level teaching experience
  • Daily self-reported usage of generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or equivalent)
  • Legal right to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Master's degree from a top-ranked research university
  • Background as a participant or coach in competitive academic programs (MATHCOUNTS, Science Olympiad, national debate, or equivalent)
  • Experience coaching high-achieving students toward elite outcomes (college admissions, fellowship applications, competitive exams)
  • Background in cognitive science, educational psychology, or gifted and talented (GT) education
