Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement customized lesson plans aligned with state standards and student learning styles.
- Deliver lessons that are interactive and adaptive—integrating games, real-world examples, STEM-related readings, and writing exercises as appropriate.
- Administer and grade assignments, quizzes, and projects. Track progress regularly, identify areas for improvement, and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Modify lessons to meet the needs of students with learning differences, such as ASD, dyslexia, or dysgraphia. Employ strategies that build confidence, strengthen executive functioning, and promote engagement.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to students. Maintain regular communication with parents or guardians to share updates and suggest strategies for further support.
- Establish and maintain a positive, nurturing, and organized learning space—focused on fostering independent learning, critical thinking, and a love of learning.
Qualifications
- Required: Certified teacher OR at least 5 years of proven experience as a homeschool instructor.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, English, or a related field preferred.
- Demonstrated experience teaching middle school-aged students in Math and ELA.
- Familiarity with working with students who have learning disabilities (e.g., ASD, dyslexia, dysgraphia), and ability to adapt lessons accordingly.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills.
- Creative, patient, empathetic, and committed to ongoing professional development.
