What You'll Do
- Keep living spaces tidy and safe with light housekeeping (sweeping, vacuuming, mopping---no hands-and-knees floor scrubbing)
- Clean kitchen areas, including counters and appliances (oven, burners, refrigerator)
- Clean bathrooms (floors, sink, tub, toilet, shower, fixtures) and launder bathroom rugs as needed
- Dust and perform general cleaning; wash reachable interior windows, mirrors, and blinds (no climbing)
- Remove trash and place it in proper bins for pickup
- Prepare simple, nutritious meals as directed by the plan of care
- Run assigned errands (for example, grocery shopping or picking up supplies)
- Maintain an organized environment and follow infection control, safety, and emergency procedures
- Notice changes in condition, behavior, or the home environment and report them to the clinical supervisor/assigned nurse
- Follow the established plan of care and agency workflow; perform other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
- A high school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Housekeeping, caregiving, or home health experience (preferred)
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions and document/report essential information as needed
- Kind, professional communication with clients, families, and the care team
- Comfortable working independently and staying on schedule
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for assigned errands/visits
- Commitment to confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
Work Setting & Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in patient homes with varied conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- May be exposed to pets, environmental allergens, and different home settings
- Flexible scheduling based on patient needs
Important Role Boundaries
- This role provides non-medical supportive services only
- No hands-on personal care (bathing, dressing, toileting) unless appropriately certified (CNA/HHA)
- No medication administration, nail cutting, or skilled nursing tasks
- No climbing ladders/step stools or cleaning anything that cannot be reached from a standing position
- No taking laundry items home (infection control)
