About the Role

Right At Home In Home Care, located in Wallingford CT, is seeking professional vaccinated Homemakers, HHAs, Companions, CNAs, and PCAs to provide care to elderly clients in their homes. The ideal candidate should have 6 months or more of documented caregiving experience. Targeted service areas include Wallingford, Meriden, Middletown, Southington, Cheshire, Waterbury, Naugatuck, Watertown, Woodbury, Plymouth, Terryville, and surrounding areas.

This role is a great opportunity for high school seniors, college students, retirees, and veterans.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with eating, personal hygiene, dressing, and shaving
• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and other household chores
• Prepare meals and navigate kitchen tasks
• Provide medication reminders
• Assist with prescribed range of motion exercises
• Provide dementia care and companionship activities such as reading, music, and puzzles

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and auto insurance
• High school diploma or GED
• Must pass a full employment background check
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate with minimal assistance

Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• CNA or HHA Certification
• 6 months or more experience as a Caregiver/Home Health Aide in healthcare
• CPR and First Aid Certification
• COVID-19 vaccination with ability to provide card
