Homeless Services, Coordinated Entry System Coordinator (Los Angeles Area or REMOTE ROLE)
About the role

The Coordinated Entry System (CES) Coordinator will support the implementation and operation of a CES for a large Continuum of Care (CoC). This role coordinates program operations related to the CES process and workflow, matches housing referrals to openings, monitors CES workflows, supports system navigation to reduce move‑in timelines, and addresses system‑ and program‑level barriers to ensure continuous CES outflow. The CES Coordinator serves as a key liaison between housing providers, outreach teams, shelters, access sites, and other community partners to facilitate effective housing matching, referral management, and successful placements. Please note: this position is contingent upon a contract award; interviews are being conducted and offers extended in anticipation of the award.

- Conduct CoC‑defined coordinated entry administration and management procedures to reduce unit vacancies, expedite referrals from CES to housing, and improve move‑in processes for households experiencing homelessness.
- Gather and analyze data on household strengths and barriers and program‑level service offerings and eligibility criteria to remove barriers to housing and improve CES processes.
- Implement all CES guidance in a standardized and uniform manner, including housing applications, service coordination activities, and data tracking to ensure transparency and fairness in CES operations.
- Support cross‑functional, interagency, and system‑wide collaboration to identify process and workflow issues, and coordinate with appropriate leadership to develop and implement solutions across the CES.
- Contribute to the development of training materials for CES access sites and participating providers, including compliance training, operational forms/guides, FAQs, and toolkits.
- Translate policy requirements and technical documentation into action‑oriented CES processes to improve CES throughput.
- Model appropriate CES protocols and procedures with service providers and partners through coaching, expert facilitation, and adherence to defined policies to ensure fidelity to CES design standards.
- Identify process improvements to increase the timeliness of referrals to housing options for which households are eligible and prioritized.
- Develop excellent working relationships with local partners within the defined CoC or sub‑CoC geographies, including CES participating providers, access sites, affordable housing providers, and partners from other systems of care (behavioral health, substance use treatment).
- Examine HMIS and CES data to identify trends among subpopulations or demographic types to identify inequities, and recommend policy and programmatic improvements to eliminate disparities.
- Maintain secure communication channels to protect the privacy and confidentiality of client information.
- Perform other duties as assigned, which may include field‑based support, staffing augmentation, direct training, technical assistance, capacity building, and quality assurance monitoring.
