Homefinding Support Worker

Principle Responsibilities

• Conduct and complete recertifications, home visits and collect documents; relocations and re-assessing inactive homes.
• Organize and facilitate Kinship MAPP/Deciding Together trainings.
• Represent the agency at City, State and other meetings and events.
• Work collaboratively as a team member with Intake/Training Department.
• Enters documentation in LFCS Intranet as well as OCFS Connections database.

Special qualifications

• Some knowledge of the principles and practices of social casework.
• Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations governing the care and treatment of children as well as foster homes.
• Ability to establish effective working relationship with others, provide quality assessment and verify information needed through interviews.
• Ability to prepare and present clear, accurate and comprehensive reports on foster homes.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED with relevant experience required.
• Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate's or bachelor’s degree in social work or related field preferred.
• GPSII/MAPP Leader Certification preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Travel Requirements

This position is in Brooklyn with travel to other locations. A valid NYS driver’s license is required if driving a vehicle. Public transportation may also be used.
