About the role

As a Financial Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in clinical trial financial management and contract negotiation. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the budget for each cancer research study is financially viable, properly funded, contractually approved, and ready to launch without creating financial or compliance risks. You will manage 3-4 budgets at any given time, ensuring studies are activated promptly within the 120-day activation goal.

Responsibilities

  • Review new clinical trial protocols to understand the required work.
  • Calculate the cost of running the study at the site.
  • Build study budgets and negotiate funding with pharmaceutical companies, biotech sponsors, or CROs.
  • Determine if a study is financially worthwhile for the cancer center.
  • Manage and track research contracts through approval systems.
  • Update budgets and contracts when studies are amended.
  • Coordinate with investigators, study coordinators, finance teams, legal teams, and sponsors.
  • Track progress to ensure studies are activated promptly.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in clinical trial operations, study protocol, and finance.
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) supporting clinical research operations, study start-up activities, research administration, finance, regulatory, contracts, or budget management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a team-player mentality.
  • 4-year degree required.

Skills

  • Oncology experience preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with Adobe preferred, but not required.
  • Optimistic, positive attitude with adaptability, open-mindedness, and curiosity.

Work Environment

This is a 100% remote position. Candidates must have an in-home office setup, including reliable internet and preferably two screens. Candidates must reside in one of the following states: Alaska, California, Colorado, Illinois, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, or in the Unincorporated Territories of the US (e.g., American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, Mariana Islands, and the US Virgin Islands). Working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00 per hour.
