About the Role

The Home Training PD Registered Nurse evaluates and trains the dialysis facility’s home peritoneal dialysis patients, care partners, and families for the home dialysis program. This position ensures an atmosphere that respects patient rights, privacy, dignity, and well-being in a safe, secure environment. The role requires familiarity with peritoneal dialysis equipment, procedures, and the knowledge, skills, and judgment necessary to care for dialysis patients.

Responsibilities

  • Train home peritoneal dialysis patients, care partners, and families for the home dialysis program.
  • Maintain knowledge of peritoneal dialysis equipment and procedures.
  • Uphold patient rights, privacy, dignity, and well-being.
  • Demonstrate ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and fellow employees.

Requirements

  • Registered Professional Nurse with current state licensure.
  • Twelve (12) months of experience in nursing.
  • Meets all applicable state/licensing requirements.
  • Three (3) months of experience in peritoneal dialysis or home hemodialysis unless otherwise specified by state regulations.
  • Documented training and experience in peritoneal dialysis and/or home hemodialysis, including maintenance of the dialysis access.
  • Basic training certificates if less than one (1) year of experience in this modality.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current CPR Certification.

Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory and teaching experience preferred.

Pay

$40 - $46 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
