Must possess a valid NYS teaching certificate; proof of certification must be attached to your application. Fingerprinting through the NYS Department of Education is required.

Requirements

• Valid NYS teaching certificate
• Fingerprinting through the NYS Department of Education
• Preferred: Willingness to provide home instruction in a hospital setting if necessary
• Flexibility
• Compassion and sensitivity to unique student needs
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students unable to participate in their current educational program due to medical or disciplinary reasons
• Arrange instruction times with the parent/guardian, limited to days when school is in session (weekends and holidays prohibited)
• Communicate regularly with the teacher of record regarding curricular expectations, assignments, and grading

Pay

This is a part-time position with variable hours per week, depending on the number of students assigned. There is no guarantee of a set amount of hours.
