As a Home Infusion Nurse, you’ll provide skilled clinical care to patients in their homes or in designated infusion suites, offering true autonomy and flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Travel to patient homes and related sites using a personal or rental vehicle in accordance with company travel policies
- Provide safe and compliant infusion services in accordance with Optum Infusion Pharmacy policies, protocols, and physician orders
- Establish and maintain positive therapeutic relationships with patients and caregivers, including education on self-care and self-administration
- Assess patient suitability for home infusion therapy, including home safety, caregiver support, and patient independence
- Obtain and maintain accurate patient medical histories, clinical assessments, and all required documentation, including plans of care, visit notes, medication profiles, and discharge summaries
- Deliver skilled nursing care across a range of patient ages and conditions based on physician orders and treatment plans
- Establish, access, and maintain vascular devices, including peripheral IVs, PICC lines, tunneled catheters, and implanted ports
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses, including managing infusion reactions, vital signs, side effects, and lab collection
- Communicate patient status and therapy response promptly with physicians, pharmacists, supervisors, and other care team members
- Assist in staff orientation and training, serving as a clinical educator and resource as requested
Requirements
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts
- Current BLS/CPR certification from AHA or Red Cross or willingness to obtain prior to start
- 1+ years of RN experience in a clinical setting supporting infusion or IV therapy (e.g., ICU, Med Surg, ED, PACU)
- Proven ability to work independently with solid clinical judgment and effective interdisciplinary collaboration skills
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to cover an 80 mile service radius while working an average of 20 hours per week
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Infusion Nursing Society (INS) standards
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and EMR platforms
- Understanding of HIPAA, OSHA, and home infusion accreditation guidelines
- Proven solid communication, organization, critical thinking, and teaching skills

Pay
The hourly pay for this role will range from $29.00 - $52.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
Schedule
Work an average of 20 hours per week, traveling within the Franklin, MA to Woonsocket, RI area to deliver care in patient homes or designated sites.
