About the Role
Works under the supervision of a Clinical Manager to provide individualized patient care for patients in all developmental stages throughout the life span, including adults (18-72 years) and geriatrics (72+ years). Participates in professional responsibilities such as program development, student programs, and performance improvement initiatives. Serves as a consultant to patients and assumes a communicative role with other professionals, making referrals as appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Assesses, interprets, plans, implements, and evaluates patients with an appropriate level of skill given the patient’s age and diagnosis. Admits patients to the agency when physical therapy is a primary skilled need.
- Assists with program development and discipline-specific operations efficiently and productively.
- Appropriately communicates and documents information in accordance with agency policies, procedures, and discipline-specific guidelines.
- Contributes to program effectiveness and organizes work to enhance agency performance.
- Maintains and adjusts schedule to meet agency needs and demonstrates a daily commitment to agency values.
- Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations with all agency members and maintains customer satisfaction.
- Effectively demonstrates the mission, vision, and values of the agency on a daily basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: Graduate of a Physical Therapy program from an accredited university.
- Licensure/Certifications: Licensure in the state of practice (NC/SC); CPR certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year.
- Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Knowledge of home health and physical therapy procedures; ability to manipulate patient care and evaluation equipment, including modalities and assistive devices; ability to properly transfer and guard patients; ability to apply manual therapy techniques.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact professionally with the public, co-workers, patients, families, and physicians.
- Essential Physical Requirements: Frequent lifting greater than 50 lbs and transferring patients greater than 100 lbs; repeated reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling; occasional overhead reaching, stair climbing, sitting, and fine motor manipulation.
- Essential Mental Abilities: Ability to apply clinical principles, use professional reasoning, prioritize duties, and learn new skills and computer technology.
- Essential Sensory Requirements: Ability to see and communicate clearly to perform clinical techniques.
- Exposure to Hazards: Noise, congestion, communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, patient assault, and injury risks from improper body mechanics or uncooperative patients.
- Population Served: Adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and pediatrics.
Schedule
36-hour work weeks, with variable shifts including Fridays, Sundays, and holidays as needed.
