Optum NV is seeking a Full-Time Physical Therapist for home health care in Las Vegas, NV. Responsibilities

  • Provide physical therapy services according to a written physician’s plan of care, including:
    • Assessing and evaluating therapeutic, rehabilitative, and functional status
    • Participating in the development of the total plan of care and evaluating the home environment
    • Assessing muscle strength, mobility, gait, and range of motion for rehabilitation potential
    • Directing physical therapy treatment
    • Instructing patients and families/caregivers on the use and care of therapeutic appliances
    • Determining priority needs for physical therapy and reporting patient reactions or changes in condition to the physician
    • Initiating physical therapy programs and instructing personnel or family members on treatment phases and goals
    • Training patients in the use of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices
    • Identifying patient and family needs for other home health services and making appropriate referrals
    • Preparing and submitting clinical and progress summaries based on goal attainment
    • Participating in discharge planning
    • Providing physical therapy consultation to families/caregivers when indicated
    • Delivering in-service education related to physical therapy to agency personnel
    • Participating in peer consultation processes
  • Supervise physical therapy assistants per organization policy and state regulations, ensuring patient re-evaluation at least every 7th day of treatment or every 21 days, whichever occurs first
  • Maintain communication with other personnel involved in patient care to promote coordinated, efficient care
  • Maintain clinical competency in physical therapy practice and theory
  • Participate in agency on-call coverage as outlined in policy

The above responsibilities represent major duties; incumbents may be asked to perform additional job-related tasks.

Requirements

  • Degree from a baccalaureate, master’s, or doctorate program in physical therapy approved by an accredited organization
  • Active, unrestricted Nevada state license to practice as a Physical Therapist
  • Current CPR certification
  • 2+ years of experience as a Physical Therapist
  • Community or home health experience
  • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) applications
  • Thorough knowledge of current physical therapy professional standards of care and state/federal regulations
  • Basic PC skills, including Windows, Outlook, and other email systems
  • Valid Nevada driver’s license, reliable automobile in good working order, and personal auto insurance coverage meeting organization requirements

  • Excellent observation, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Compliance with accepted professional standards and practices
  • Proven ability to prioritize and communicate objectives clearly

Pay

The salary for this full-time role ranges from $72,800 to $130,000 annually, based on factors such as local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.
