About the role

The Occupational Therapy Assistant provides prescribed treatments to patients across all ages, assisting with program development and ensuring efficient operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in developing and implementing occupational therapy programs
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living and other therapeutic exercises
  • Maintains accurate records and documentation of patient progress
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care plans
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and policies

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Occupational Therapy
  • State licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • CPR certification
  • One year of relevant work experience (preferred)

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of home health procedures
  • Expertise in patient handling techniques
  • Understanding of assistive devices and their applications

Physical Demands

  • Lifting and transferring patients
  • Transferring patients between positions
  • Performing mobility tasks as needed

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Effective clinical reasoning abilities
  • Proficiency in using medical software and databases
