Job Overview

Earn while you learn! HCR is pleased to announce our 3-week Paid HHA Certification course on September 1st- September 23rd 2026. This NYS Dept of Health approved course will enable participants to obtain a recognized HHA Certificate and work for HCR seeing our home care patients. Work is readily available in Monroe Genesee and Orleans Counties!

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Successful completion of HCR's Reading and Math Test
  • Reliable transportation
  • Driver's License

After Offer Acceptance

  • Provide a copy of immunization records/MMRs
  • Submission to CHRC background check, fingerprinting, drug test, physical exam and Tuberculin Testing

Physical Requirements

  • Potentially hazardous materials such as those found in cleaning agents and other chemicals may be stored in a client’s home.
  • Working conditions may expose the home health aide and / or personal care aide to smoke, pets and other allergens.
  • Frequent walking and standing (80%-100% of the time)
  • Frequent lifting (Must be able to lift / move 50 lbs. unassisted)
  • May require pushing / pulling / transferring 50 lbs. of weight
  • Sufficient hand strength and dexterity to carry out care plan duties
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, pull and push unsupported, routinely
  • Ability to climb two flights of stairs

Job Outline of a Certified Home Health Aide

Home Health Aides provide personal care and supportive light housekeeping services to individuals in the community in the privacy of their home. Essential Functions:

  • Provide health related services as outlined in the plan of care authorized by a physician and established by a registered nurse or licensed therapist under the direction of the Aide Matrix established by the NYS Department of Health.
  • Provide assistance with personal hygiene, housekeeping and/or other related supportive tasks to a patient with health care needs in his/her home.
  • Immediately report changes in client’s condition to supervising professional.
  • Ensure the safety of the patient, patient’s family and/or the employee.
  • Maintain HIPAA.
