Home Health Aide - Hospice - FT - Days (Kline Hospice House)

About the role

The Certified Nursing Assistant, Hospice is a paraprofessional member of the interdisciplinary team working under the supervision of a registered nurse and performing various services for a patient as necessary to meet the patient’s personal needs and to promote comfort. The CNA is responsible for observing the patient, and reporting and documenting observations, and care performed. This position supports the Frederick Health mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy and adheres to the Frederick Health Compliance Program, including following all regulatory requirements and the Frederick Health Standards of Behavior.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care and/or support services according to a written plan of care.
• Considers patient privacy when providing bath, mouth care, hair care, shaving, and skin care.
• Maintains neatness of the work area.
• Lifts, turns and positions patient to assure correct body alignment and comfort.
• Meets safety needs of patient and uses equipment properly.
• Cleans spills according to policy, ie. body fluids.
• Observes equipment function at each visit and reports any dysfunction immediately.
• Monitors patient area for safety hazards, ie. fire
