We are seeking committed and passionate professionals to provide critical home health services for military families.
About the role
We are looking for compassionate health care providers who can provide in-home assistance on an ongoing basis for a special needs family member who has a disability, developmental needs, or a chronic illness. You will deliver health, safety, behavioral, nutritional, and recreational support in the special needs family member’s home.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily living skills such as bathing, feeding, toileting, lifting/positioning, and dressing.
- Provide supervision to ensure the safety of the special needs family member.
- Interact positively and communicate effectively with the special needs family member, family members, and other staff.
- Prepare written reports and documentation of the assigned family member’s needs and irregularities.
Requirements
Respite Care Provider-Level 3
- A combination of post-secondary education and/or training and experience in nursing and/or early childhood education, special education, elementary education, or a relevant field of study.
- Related associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Designation as LPN or related certifications desirable.
- Minimum of two years’ experience working with special needs children, youth, or adults.
Respite Care Provider-Level 4
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study such as early childhood education, special education, and elementary education (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
- Designation as RN or related certifications is desirable.
- A combination of technical knowledge/experience working with chronic conditions that require extensive family involvement in caregiving.
- Minimum of 2–5 years’ experience working with special needs children, youth, or adults.
- Plus the minimum requirements listed for Level 3.
