Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment
- Achieve and exceed sales and profit goals
- Maintain quality assurance standards
- Model and demonstrate company core values
- Encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service
- Handle stressful situations effectively
- Communicate clearly and effectively
- Manage basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)
- Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold
- Respond to customer inquiries and suggest products
- Offer product samples
- Recommend products to customers
- Review "sell by" dates and take appropriate action
- Label, stock, and inventory merchandise
- Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies
- Stay current with store advertising
- Reinforce safety programs
- Practice preventive maintenance
- Notify management of safety risks, issues, and illegal activity
Qualifications
- Minimum ability to handle stressful situations
- Desired retail experience
- Second language proficiency (speaking, reading, writing)
