Home Equity Processor

About the role

We are seeking a Home Equity Processor to join a collaborative lending team and assist members through the home equity loan process from application to closing. This role is ideal for someone with full-cycle processing experience who enjoys working directly with customers, managing loan files, and ensuring a smooth lending experience. The position is a contract role based in Troy, MI, with an anticipated closing date of Oct 2, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Process home equity loan applications from start to finish.
• Manage a pipeline of approximately 25-30 loan files once fully trained.
• Review income and supporting documentation, including pay stubs and financial records.
• Order appraisals, flood certifications, and other required documentation.
• Gather payoff information and verify mortgage-related details.
• Review mortgagee clauses and ensure all documentation is accurate and complete.
• Prepare files for underwriting review and approval.
• Coordinate and schedule closings.
• Maintain consistent communication with members throughout the loan process.
• Partner with teammates to ensure loan pipelines move efficiently and service levels remain high.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years of full-cycle mortgage processing or home equity processing experience.
• Experience managing loan files from application through closing.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and collaborate to meet department goals.
• Comfortable working in a process-driven environment with performance metrics.
