About the role
Worcester Community Action Council (WCAC) is dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty through various programs including energy assistance, early education and care, financial empowerment, positive youth development, and career pathways. Serving 45 towns in Central and South-Central Massachusetts, WCAC has 125 employees and an annual budget of approximately $40 million.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate properties and provide energy savings opportunities to participants.
- Coordinate and complete Energy Efficiency Improvements including Weatherization, Appliance Replacements, and Heating System upgrades.
- Work closely with the Department of Energy (DOE) and local utility companies on energy conservation measures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or HiSet equivalent.
- 1-2 years of experience in the energy conservation or construction field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to learn software and databases used by WCAC.
- Self-directed, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and reasoning skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Customer service oriented; strong interpersonal and communication skills with a positive outlook and empathetic style.
- Embraces and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Ability to speak Spanish or other languages, a plus.
Other Requirements
- Ability to successfully complete a National Grid’s background check process, including drug screen.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- This position requires daily travel and will be reimbursed for mileage.
- Successful candidate must complete required training and certifications within 18 months of hire.
Pay
$21/hr
