About the role

Home Care Occupational Therapist (OT) in a part-time capacity, serving Union, Richmond, and Anson Counties.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care through direct treatment and follow-up assessments.
  • Evaluate new patients using motor, sensory-perceptual-cognitive, and performance assessments.
  • Develop personalized care plans based on assessment findings.
  • Establish measurable goals aligned with patient evaluations.
  • Accurately document patient data, progress, or decline in condition.
  • Coordinate with Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and supervise their patient care.
  • Manage patient visit schedules and communicate with internal teams.
  • Discuss reimbursement policies and treatment plans with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Make referrals to appropriate disciplines in collaboration with the Patient Care Coordinator.
  • Provide educational sessions for healthcare professionals, patients, and the public.
  • Supervise peers, support personnel, and train students as needed; assist with research and new employee orientation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of the National Certification Exam and current state licensure.
  • Preferably, at least one year of therapeutic experience outside of home health.
  • Strong knowledge of physical therapy concepts and evaluation/treatment skills.
  • CPR certification, excellent communication, and organizational skills.
  • Minimum of twelve hours of continuing education annually.
  • Willingness to travel and work in assigned conditions.
  • Additional requirements include background checks, drug-free workplace policies, and adherence to professional standards.
