Home Care Aide

Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the client and report on completed tasks
• Aid with personal care activities (bathing, dressing, etc.)
• Perform routine house cleaning
• Assist with meal preparation
• Handle laundry
• Transport clients to doctor’s office, grocery store, and other essential errands
• Support the self-administration of medications (no administering or measuring)
• Act as part of the client’s Health Care Team, observing and reporting any changes in the client’s condition
• Promote Addus Homecare’s positive image in the community as the leading home care provider

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or GED, or one year experience in in-home care services
• Pass a criminal background check
• Reliable transportation (public transportation preferred, or a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance if driving)
• Provide three references (two professional and one personal)
• Nurturing and compassionate nature with a desire to care for others
• Ability to work with limited supervision
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable, energetic, self-motivated, and well-organized
• Familiarity with and comfort using a cell phone

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
