About the role

Are you a licensed therapist who wants to do meaningful clinical work beyond the traditional office setting? At Lutheran Child and Family Services of Indiana/Kentucky (LCFS), our Home Based Therapists meet children and families where they are—literally. You'll provide therapy in homes, schools, and community settings, helping families navigate challenges, strengthen relationships, and create greater stability. You'll have the opportunity to build meaningful connections with clients while being supported by a collaborative clinical team that understands the demands and rewards of community-based work.

Responsibilities

  • Providing individual and family therapy in homes, schools, and other community settings
  • Conducting bio-psychosocial assessments
  • Developing individualized treatment plans
  • Helping clients build skills that support healthier relationships and greater family stability
  • Providing crisis intervention when needed
  • Connecting families with community resources and supportive services
  • Collaborating with treatment teams, referral partners, and other community professionals
  • Supporting discharge planning and long-term client stability
  • Maintaining timely and accurate clinical documentation
  • Protecting client confidentiality and following Behavioral Health Services policies and procedures

Your First 90 Days

We'll help you build a strong foundation for success. During your first 90 days, you'll become comfortable with LCFS clinical practices and begin:

  • Conducting assessments and developing treatment plans
  • Providing individual and family therapy
  • Building relationships with clients and families
  • Connecting clients to valuable community resources
  • Completing required clinical documentation
  • Collaborating with your clinical team to support client progress

LCFS uses structured onboarding and training to help new employees understand the organization, their responsibilities, available resources, and internal processes.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a mental health-related field
  • Current Indiana clinical license as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT
  • At least two years of mental health treatment experience
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to provide services in community-based settings
