About the Role

As a Home-Based Seasonal Sr. Specialist Guest Relations, you’ll provide a Target-branded experience with every guest interaction by listening, using critical thinking, and advocating for the guest to deepen relationships and drive loyalty and sales. You’ll support guests across multiple communication channels—including phone, email, and chat—with phone contacts as a core responsibility. Every interaction should deliver exceptional service while protecting guest privacy and building trust.

  • Find creative solutions to make it right for the guest, quickly adapting to changing business needs.
  • Share business intelligence through accurate documentation and coding.
  • Learn new technology and solve problems using all available resources and knowledge.
  • Interact with teams across Target to resolve guest issues in a timely manner.
  • Identify, evaluate, and communicate guest trends to leadership promptly.
  • Handle media-sensitive or potential legal issues requiring extensive research or partnership with key Target leaders.
  • Respond to written correspondence while ensuring all contacts reflect professionalism.
  • Adapt quickly to changing business needs while maintaining a positive attitude and professionalism.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking by identifying unique guest situations and making appropriate decisions.
  • Leverage online resources and web-based applications to assist and resolve guest and team member issues with a thorough understanding of policies and procedures supporting compliance.
  • Maintain department performance standards and goals related to performance and quality service.
  • Work in a challenging, fast-paced multi-media environment, prioritizing work accordingly.

Responsibilities

  • Primarily assist guests via phone, with additional support through chat and email as business needs require.

Schedule

Start Date: Monday, 9/21/2026

Training Schedule: 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 9/21 – 10/23): 1:30pm - 10:00pm CST / 11:30am - 8:00pm MST.

Permanent Schedule: 32–40 hour flex (schedule varies between 32 and 40 hours per week, known up to 3 weeks in advance).

  • Post-training shift: Monday - Friday, 1:30pm - 10:00pm CST / 11:30am - 8:00pm MST, and every other weekend (both Saturday and Sunday).
  • Daylight savings time begins November 1st, which will impact the MST schedule by moving it back one hour.

Requirements

  • Reside and maintain residency in one of the following states/time zones: Arizona (MST), Minnesota (CST), South Dakota (CST), Texas (CST), or Wisconsin (CST).
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • 1–2 years of previous guest experience or customer service experience.
  • Ability to interact with guests, team members, and internal business partners with a professional, friendly, empathetic style, and de-escalate as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including listening, negotiating, and decision-making.
  • Experience dealing with escalated guest complaints.
  • Strong technical skills, ability to work within multiple systems, and high proficiency with PC/Microsoft applications.
  • Access to a home workspace clear of noise distractions.
  • Hardwired internet in your home location (using an Ethernet cable to directly connect the Target-issued computer to the modem or router).
  • Meet the minimum bandwidth requirement of 40mbps download/5mbps upload.
  • Ability to engage via a Target-issued web camera for required meetings, trainings, and interactions.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 25 pounds of equipment.

Additional Home-Based Requirements

  • Upon request, complete an internet speed test and email the results to your leader.
  • Deactivate wireless capability when using Target equipment during work hours.
  • Save emergency and work telephone numbers (excluding online resources) and other required notices in a conspicuous spot in your home workspace.
  • Follow specific Target processes during lengthy disruptions to power or internet service, which may include taking unpaid time off if applicable.
  • Take reasonable care to prevent unauthorized disclosure of or access to Target property or information by others in the home workspace.
  • Log off or lock your Target-issued computer when away from your workspace.
  • Use Target-issued equipment only for Target business purposes; printing or storing proprietary information is not allowed.
  • Keep your workspace free from personal cell phones, tablets, or other devices (especially video and audio recording devices).
  • Maintain Target’s dress code expectations while working from home.
  • Maintain only one designated work location.
  • Use the surge protector provided with your Target-issued equipment.
  • No reimbursement for home office costs, such as internet, office supplies, or desk furniture.
  • Follow Target’s “Ergonomics in the Workplace” document when setting up your workspace to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Have a working smoke detector in or near the workspace.
  • Have a first aid kit accessible near the workspace.
  • Set up all issued Target equipment in your home workspace.
  • Disassemble and return all Target-issued equipment as directed by your leader upon request or at the end of your role.
