About the role

The Utilities Board of the City of Andalusia seeks a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Helper to perform basic upkeep and maintenance of a wastewater treatment facility, including cleaning and washing static screen separators, removing sludge from drying beds, and flushing down boat clarifiers.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic upkeep and maintenance of a wastewater treatment facility.
• Cleans and washes static screen separators.
• Removes sludge from drying beds.
• Flushes down boat clarifiers on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• Any combination of training and/or experience equivalent to: Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license as issued by the Alabama Department of Public Safety.
• May be required to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License, Class B.
• May be required to work in excess of 40 hours.
• Some experience in related work.
