About the Campaign

Cadence recently launched a campaign for their new Orange Soda flavor that made an immediate impact—so much so that it stopped our entire team mid-conversation. The campaign was shot on 120 and 35mm film by photographers Ryan Golz and Mason Prendergast, set across the streets of Brooklyn and New York during a heatwave. Film wasn’t just a stylistic choice; it was the foundational creative decision that shaped everything else. The warmth and authenticity of the imagery, baked into the grain of the film, create a feeling that digital processes can’t replicate.

Unlike most performance campaigns that prioritize movement, this one keeps it subtle—almost incidental. The focus isn’t on the product but on the moment around it: the warmth of summer, the people, and the shared experience. Orange Soda becomes the source of hydration in a larger, more memorable narrative.

Cadence has successfully shifted the perception of performance brands, moving away from the idea that performance requires suffering. As founder Ross MacKay puts it: *"If we do our job right, in 10 years someone's orange soda memory just happens to be ours."* Judging by this campaign, they’ve already achieved that.
