About the Role
As a Drink Runner at Gekko, you help set the standards by which our restaurant is judged through your personal appearance, disposition, and attitude towards guests. You are always in view of the guest, making strong communication skills and a positive attitude essential. Your role involves anticipating guest needs, working closely with the entire staff, and maintaining high hospitality standards even during busy periods. This position requires weekend and holiday availability.
Responsibilities
- Attend all required restaurant meetings and trainings.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with company standards.
- Work a variable schedule, including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform.
- Follow food safety and sanitary guidelines issued by the Health Department.
- Complete assigned side-work within the allocated timeframe.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of classic cocktails and spirits.
- Ensure drinks are served with clean glassware, proper fill levels, and correct garnishes.
- Keep trays cleaned and organized at the service bar station.
- Know table and position numbers to ensure accurate drink delivery.
- Serve drinks and clear empty glassware from the right of the guest when possible.
- Serve drinks to the correct person without auctioning.
- Provide timely beverage service in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Collaborate with drink runners, servers, hosts, managers, and colleagues to promote teamwork.
- Communicate respectfully with the team about any issues affecting the guest experience.
- Take initiative to address tasks without being asked.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role.
- Excellent communication and people skills with a friendly attitude.
- Ability to multi-task and maintain attention to detail, cleanliness, and safety.
- Patience and a customer-oriented approach.
- Reliable, responsible, and trustworthy.
Physical Requirements
- Exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 pounds frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
- Ability to remain mobile for a minimum of 6 hours.
