Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, repairs, and modifications of Hoists.
- Work knowledge of assembly, dismantling, and transportation of Hoists.
- Read, interpret, and comprehend service manuals and manufacturers' diagrams.
- Use computers to diagnose problems with electric and mechanical crane systems.
- Review problems and associated information, develop and implement corrective actions.
- Resolve emergency breakdown situations and respond to after-hours service calls as required.
- Ensure employer and customer specific safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Complete daily timesheets, inspection reports and work orders.
- Maintain flexibility and understanding that all staff may be required to perform duties outside their normal area of expertise to meet the needs and goals of the company.
Requirements
- Experience relating to the service of and working with 480V/3phase electrical including a working knowledge of electrical schematics and symbols.
- Skilled with diagnostics and troubleshooting complex electrical/electronic parts to component level.
- Knowledge and troubleshooting experience with PLC, Three-phase and AC/DC motors and drives.
- Experience with Alimak and Pega elevators a plus.
- Good mechanical background.
- Motor Control experience is an asset.
- Able to take the initiative, prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid state drivers' license.
- Professional certification is a plus.
- Evening, weekend and out of town work will be required.
