HMI Engineer

About the role

Case iZ is the best-in-class provider of compressed air control systems, offering a broad range of base products and innovative engineering solutions. With over 30 years of stability and growth, we serve many Fortune 100 companies as key clients. This position focuses on new HMI application development, working primarily with Rockwell FactoryTalk View ME, SE, and Optix applications. Other HMI platforms are a plus. Product development activities and project management experience are also beneficial. This role requires approximately 25% travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide HMI and SCADA development, with a focus on Rockwell's FactoryTalk applications (experience with Rockwell Optix is a plus).
• Offer technical support to customers and resolve operational problems related to projects to minimize delays or unexpected cost increases.
• Ensure project success whether acting as project leader or as part of a project team.
• Interpret client requirements, identify and address design parameters, and solve engineering problems.
• Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design, including electrical requirements and motor controls.
• Create, test, and finalize control system designs to meet project requirements.
• Develop customer documentation such as user manuals, programming diagrams, network diagrams, and electrical drawings.
• Commission customized products and systems onsite and at customer facilities.
• Provide high-quality pre-sales, design-in, and post-sales technical support to customers.

Requirements

• 5 years of related job experience.
• Strong experience with HMI SCADA Server/Client architecture, including configuration of communication drivers, scripting functions, tag logging, and alarm management.
• Proficiency with Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI programming.
• Strong fundamental knowledge of control and electrical system design and its application in automated industrial designs.
• Ability to efficiently organize and plan work tasks to meet company goals.
• Critical thinking and exceptional problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Proactive, resourceful, and highly motivated with good communication skills and the ability to work in a high-output environment.
• Ability to balance multiple projects.
• Excellent driving record.
