HM PreCoding Specialist

Job Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Consistently maintain established production goals while meeting or exceeding defined quality standards throughout the PreCoding process.
• Identify and trend results and processes to develop and maintain a standardized PreCoding workflow and cadence.
• Participate in system testing as needed to support system, application upgrades, and all processes and procedures.
• Document verification using approved notation standards within the charge entry application and Hospital EMRP.
• Promote a team environment demonstrating our core values to achieve all departmental goals and supporting individual professional development.
• Actively participate in meetings and educational programs to improve both individual and team quality.
• Comply with HIPAA requirements in relation to all chart activities.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in a medical (billing preferably) and or revenue cycle environment.
• Knowledge of EMR documentation systems preferred.
• Certification and licenses: N/A

Education

• (Required and/or Preferred): High school diploma or equivalent.
• Field of study: Business or healthcare-related field.

Supervision Exercised

The HM PreCoding Specialist works independently under general supervision while adhering to established policies, procedures, and production standards.

Pay

Pay Range: 18.00 - 26.00 USD per hour

This range represents the anticipated base salary for this role. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
