About the role

If you’re outgoing, friendly, and have a passion for guest service, this Marketing Ambassador position is an introductory role in Grand Casino marketing. You’ll assist with enrolling new players, executing events and promotions, answering guest questions, and booking hotel rooms.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains knowledge of current casino amenities, promotions, events, and entertainment to provide accurate information to Guests and Associates.
  • Assists in the execution of casino promotions, events, drawings, and entertainment from setup to teardown.
  • Promotes the player’s club loyalty program by educating Guests about its benefits and maintaining a strong working knowledge of the system.
  • Maintains proficiency in the player’s club software, including enrolling new members, managing Guest accounts, and redeeming points, coupons, and comps.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of drawing software and proper execution of drawings.
  • Emcees promotional events in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Maintains high accuracy in coupon redemption, including coding, commenting, and tracking, as well as accountability for company-issued funds.
  • Answers incoming calls professionally, assists with needs, or forwards to the appropriate department.
  • Follows operational practices specific to the marketing department and property.
  • Maintains confidentiality of Guest information and ensures accurate company records.
  • Listens to Guest complaints and concerns, resolves issues, or directs them to the appropriate department.
  • Upsells properties and amenities by informing Guests of offerings and upcoming events.
  • Maintains excellent communication and working relationships with other departments.
  • Assists in communication flow throughout the operation and attends ongoing meetings.
  • Maintains knowledge of emergency procedures, contacts security or emergency services when needed, and reports emergencies to outside agencies (Police, Fire Department, etc.).
  • Maintains a log of phone calls and reports problems to the appropriate department or Associate(s).
  • Administers paging or overhead announcements clearly and professionally.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or ability to pass the Basic Skills Assessment.
  • One (1) year of experience in marketing, sales, guest service, promotions, hospitality, or customer service industries preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), internet research, and email communication.
  • Money-handling experience preferred.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, percentages, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must be able to apply common sense to collect data, analyze facts, and determine appropriate responses.
  • Must be able to secure a license from the Gaming Regulatory Authority.
  • Must follow all relevant Detailed Gaming Regulations (DGR’s).
  • Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to talk and hear; communicate effectively.
  • Ability to see and adjust focus, including close, distance, depth, and peripheral vision.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit (up to 8 hours), balance, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, and/or crawl.
  • Ability to handle objects, tools, and controls; reach with arms and hands.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 25 lbs.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to:

  • A low-to-moderate noise level (offices).
  • A moderate-to-loud noise level (public areas).
