HIV Testing Counselor

About the role

The Mobile STI/HIV Testing Specialist contributes to AHF by presenting a friendly, helpful face to members seeking HIV and/or STI testing and prevention services. This role provides courteous, confidential, and professional support to members within wellness and testing programs. The Mobile STI/HIV Testing Specialist enhances the reputation of AHF by embodying our commitment to excellence in patient care, patient linkage, operational efficiency, and adaptability. With a versatile skill set and dedication to seamlessly transitioning between clinical, administrative, and front office roles, this role contributes to a positive experience, fostering trust and loyalty.

Responsibilities

• Provide free STI/HIV testing services
• Conduct community outreach
• Assist with linkage across the State of Ohio, as well as Detroit, MI
• Assist with appointment management
• Data documentation, including referrals and reports

Qualifications

• HIV testing certification provided by Ohio Department of Health
• HIV/STI testing training provided by AHF's Public Health Division (PHD)
• Passionate advocate for AHF's top initiatives
• Ability to ensure AHF Core Values and Mission stay top of mind
• Ability to adapt in a dynamic environment
• Ability to work collaboratively in a structure where staff are accountable to multiple leaders
• Ability to work as part of a close-knit team
