Counselor
About the role
The Advanced Counselor at Archway Mental Health Services provides assessment and counseling services to individuals, couples, families, and groups to meet the psychosocial needs of patients accessing care. The role involves providing essential care within the Behavioral Health department, educating, supporting, and advocating for patients.
Responsibilities
- Provides individual, marital, family, and group assessments and therapies
- Demonstrates the ability to triage individuals in crisis by establishing appropriate interventions to maintain patient safety
- Maintains accurate and timely patient records per the medical center standards
- Demonstrates proficiency in advanced assessment and counseling skills
- Able to work effectively with diverse patient populations
- Serves as a patient advocate at all times, assisting patients with accessing resources or additional referrals when needed
Requirements
- Licensed as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate effectively with other healthcare providers, and ability to develop therapeutic rapport with patients required. Experience with non-violent crisis intervention required
- CPR (BLS) certification current upon hire OR to be completed within 14 days of hire
Preferred
- Prior 5 years of clinical experience as a masters prepared social worker or counselor
