HIV Educator
Develops, implements, conducts, maintains, and coordinates training for multiple research entities, organizations, and other institutions. Contributes to solving complex, high-level issues within multi-disciplinary programs and leads both in-person and online training. Creates and evaluates training performance metrics, implements protocol revisions, and prepares project evaluations.
About the Role
The University of Pittsburgh's School of Public Health, Department of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology is seeking an HIV Educator to support coordination and planning of education programs for the Pittsburgh Regional Partner site of the MidAtlantic AETC and related grants, contracts, and initiatives. The incumbent will serve as an educator and facilitator for training programs on HIV and related topics for clinics, hospitals, and organizations throughout western and Central PA.
Responsibilities
- Participate in planning groups within and outside the university to develop programs, training, and technical assistance.
- Develop training agendas, syllabi, and collect evaluation data under supervision.
- Teach and facilitate training programs on HIV and related conditions.
- Conduct unaccompanied overnight and distance travel via all transportation modes (air, bus, taxi, train, automobile). International travel may be required.
- Prepare reports and project evaluations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
- Preference given to individuals with previous teaching and HIV experience.
- Valid PA driver’s license and US Passport for frequent travel.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and HIV-related conditions.
- Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods, lift/carry educational materials (20–40 pounds), and set up AV equipment.
- Must be able to walk around campus, transport materials, and stand for long periods during trainings or conferences.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (Fridays remote; schedule may adjust to meet department needs).
- Hybrid work arrangement: Combination of on-campus and remote work as determined by the department.
Pay
$44,000–$51,000 annual.
