Histotechnologist

Job Summary

Under direct supervision, the Histotechnologist performs both routine and complex histologic procedures in accordance with established laboratory protocols.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tissue specimens through all phases of the histology process
• Perform staining procedures including routine, special, and immunohistochemical stains
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
• Perform frozen sections and troubleshoot technical issues
• Conduct quality control and identify discrepancies that may affect diagnostic outcomes
• Record and document test results and instrument maintenance
• Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and policies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Histotechnology, Biology, or a related scientific field
• HTL(ASCP) certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC), or equivalent
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a Histology laboratory

Additional Information

• Laboratory operates 24/7; positions available for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts
• Weekend work and on-call availability are required, especially for night shifts
