Histotechnician/Medical Assistant

About the role

The Medical Assistant/Histology Technician plays a critical part in preparing, processing, and analyzing tissue samples that support accurate diagnoses and high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in histological techniques and medical assisting, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining precision and accuracy in all aspects of laboratory work.

Responsibilities

• Assist the doctor in welcoming, evaluating, and supporting patient care.
• Travel to other local clinics when needed.
• Cutting slides.
• Patient intake.
• Entry of data into Electronic Health Record Systems.
• Preparing and handling medical supplies, instruments, and specimens.
• Preparing materials for the Provider.
• Keeping the facility and equipment clean and tidy.
• Other duties as deemed necessary.

Qualifications

• ASCP HT (Histotechnician) certification preferred but not necessary.
• ASCP HTL (Histotechnologist) certification preferred but not necessary.
