About the role
The Medical Assistant/Histology Technician plays a critical part in preparing, processing, and analyzing tissue samples that support accurate diagnoses and high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in histological techniques and medical assisting, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining precision and accuracy in all aspects of laboratory work.
Responsibilities
- Assist the doctor in welcoming, evaluating, and supporting patient care.
- Travel to other local clinics when needed.
- Cutting slides.
- Patient intake.
- Entry of data into Electronic Health Record Systems.
- Preparing and handling medical supplies, instruments, and specimens.
- Preparing materials for the Provider.
- Keeping the facility and equipment clean and tidy.
- Other duties as deemed necessary.
Qualifications
- ASCP HT (Histotechnician) certification preferred but not necessary.
- ASCP HTL (Histotechnologist) certification preferred but not necessary.
