Responsibilities Include Preparing and processing patient specimens for microscopic examinationProviding quality slides for pathologists and assisting with Frozen SectionsManaging chemical solutions, waste, and fixatives safelyPerforming quality control and participating in departmental quality assuranceExecuting procedures such as identification, fixation, embedding, microtomy, staining, and immunohistochemistry on surgical and autopsy specimens Qualifications Associate's degree or higher in a certified histological technician programNew York State License Histotechnician and ASCP certificationKnowledge of SOPs, safety protocols, and effective communication skillsAbility to problem-solve, work in teams, and mentor newer staff Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, scientific, and committed to quality in histology procedures.
