Location: Baylor Scott & White Health All Saints Medical Center, Fort Worth, TX – Histology Department. Shift: PRN (variable). Preferred: at least 1 year of HT experience.

About the Role
The Histotechnician 1 prepares specimens for microscopic evaluation and diagnosis, performing technical procedures to create microscopic slide preparations. Operates and maintains laboratory instruments, records, and documentation with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of technical procedures resulting in the creation of microscopic slide preparations
- Follow quality control, quality assurance, safety, and infection control procedures
- Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
- Maintain appropriate inventory of supplies
- Maintain effective communication and working relationships with laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers
- Participate in laboratory projects and educational activities
- Demonstrate and educate laboratory practices and technical skills to others
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Less than 1 year of experience (preferred: at least 1 year of HT experience)
- Knowledge of laboratory regulations, protocols, and procedures
- Statistical and critical thinking abilities
- Ability to comprehend and communicate instructions
- Ability to perform laboratory protocols and procedures
- Skill in the use of computers and related software applications
- Knowledge of safety and infection control standards
- Ability to work in a team environment
