History Teacher, Upper School

Dates: Start date August 26, 2026Reports to: History department chair and upper school division headApply here Position SummaryNobles seeks a full-time, experienced history teacher to begin at the end of August, 2026. This is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic department whose members are passionate about teaching history, working collaboratively, and developing positive student-teacher relationships.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesTeach four sections of history (world history I and world history II)Attend faculty, department, and course team meetingsCommit to ongoing growth in classroom practice and curricular developmentContribute to school life in at least one non-academic area (e.g., athletics, community service, admission, or performing arts during two of three seasons)Attend all-school morning assembliesSupervise one study hall per 7-day cycleComplete two chaperone duties per yearParticipate in one to two admission events per yearPerform other duties as assigned by the supervisorQualificationsA bachelor’s degree is requiredA minimum of three years of teaching experience is preferredExperience teaching history in a rigorous academic environment, preferably at the high school levelA demonstrated interest in working with young people Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. People of color, people with disabilities, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, religious minorities, and members of other historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
