About the role

New Haven Public Schools seeks to hire a Teacher: History/Social Studies. The position is part of Local 933, New Haven Federation of Teachers.

Responsibilities

  • Teach History/Social Studies courses to students in grades 7-12
  • Engage in professional development opportunities such as curriculum facilitator, teacher facilitator, and the Yale-New Haven Teachers Institute
  • Participate in community support initiatives
  • Apply for federal and state loan forgiveness programs
  • Explore home buyer programs

Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain the certification requirements as established by Connecticut State Statutes. This includes certification in History & Social Studies 7-12, 226 History and Social Studies Gr. 4-12, or a comparable certification.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in History/Social Studies and a passion for teaching and engaging students. Experience in curriculum facilitation and professional development is preferred.

Pay

Salary is contingent upon degree and years of experience. For the 26-27 School Year, the salary range is $53,220 - $108,047.
